PeopleSoft Expire.html

Hi People,

I am facing an issue with custom expires.html in PeopleSoft.
When the user session expires, they must be redirected to an external website, instead of PeopleSoft login page. To achieve this,
1. I have customized the expire.html delivered by Oracle by adding Meta refresh tag for redirect
2. I have added the customized html's name to the web profile
3. I have placed this file on the web server, cleared its cache and rebooted it

In real scenario, the customized expire.html is thrown to the user, but the Meta redirect never happens. With JavaScript redirect through location object or window.open method, I am facing the same issue. Even a simple alert in JavaScript doesn't work out.

But, if I hit the logout URL manually, then all the above cases works beautifully.

Kindly note that I have tried it across different browsers versions like IE8, IE11, Firefox 44 and Chrome 46. I am facing this issue across all versions. Fiddler shows that at header level, there is no difference between the automatic hit and manual hit of the logout URL, except that there an additional redirect happening from the component URL to logout URL during automatic hit.
